BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), known as Bangtan Boys or Bulletproof Boy Scouts, a renowned South Korean boy band named BTS (BANGTAN SONYEONDAN) 방탄소년단. BTS is a seven-member South Korean boy band under the company called HYBE LABELS.

Early time of BTS (방탄소년단)

BTS was first formed in 2010 under the company named BIGHIT ENTERTAINMENT CEO Bang Si-Hyuk (Pd-nim). At first, R.M. (Kim Namjoon) was featured because of his rapping skills. At first Pd-nim idea was to form a hip-hop group, same as Y.G. Entertainments.

They were made to debut in 2011 and publicized many tracks by artists like 2 AM and Lee Seung-gi. However, their debut date was later postponed, and their group form changed from hip-hop to a traditional idol group.

The group contains seven-member named Kim Namjoon (R.M.), Kim Seok-jin (Jin), Min Yoongi (Suga), Jung Hoseok (J-Hope), Park Jimin (Jimin), Kim Taehyung (V), and Jeon Jungkook (J.K./ Jungkook).

The oldest member was Jin, while Jungkook was the maknae ( youngest) of the group. R.M. was the first to get disclosed in public, while V was the last member to get announced in public eyes.

They trained themselves for two years before debuting, and while training, they struggled through many things.

At one interview, they revealed Suga’s parents didn’t support him at first and also went into depression. J-Hope went through many hardships; V wasn’t going to take the Bighit audition because he came with his friend for support, but instead his friend, he got selected, Jungkook choose Bighit because he saw R.M. hardships, Jin wanted his mother to appreciate him, Jimin did severe diet because of Korean citizens criticizing comments about his weight and R.M. struggle through his trainees days a lot.

Formation and Early Years

BTS debuted on 13th June 2013, releasing their debut single album named 2 COOL 4 SKOOL, which includes another single named No more dream reaching up to 124 in Korean chart, and the Album sold over 145,000 copies.

Similarly, they released the next single named We are bulletproof Pt. 2 that didn’t reach high. Suga and R.M. wrote the lyrics of No More Dream more than 20 times.

The same year they released the second part of the album trilogy named O! RUL8, 2?, N.O., which reached up to 92 in the charts of Korea. They sold up to 160,000 copies of the Album in 2018, while 34,000 copies on its release year. They depicted the Korean education system and determination of proving themselves, struggles in their songs.

BTS opened their variety show named SBS MTV’s Rookie King Channel Bangtan. After that, the school trilogy named Skool Luv Affair aired in January 2014, topping the Gaon Album Chart, and the album copies sold off over 100,000 copies in 2014 and 250,000 by 2018.

Worlwide Recognization

The band gained a mass amount of popularity through their Album named Dark and wild, released in 2014, including The most beautiful moment in Life, Part 2 in 2015, Young Forever (2016), later entering the U.S. Billboard 200.

Young Forever won the Album of the year at the 2016 Melon Music Awards.

The next Album named Wings (2016) topping up to 26 on the Billboard 200, becoming the best-selling Album in the Gaon Album Chart history. It sold over 1.5 million copies being the first million-seller in 2016, getting the award of Artist of the year in Mnet Asian Music Awards
. Similarly, their next Album named Love Yourself: Her (2017) charted up to 7 in billboard 200.

They performed in the Billboard Hot 100 on the track named DNA which peaked up to 67, and Mic dropped to 28. The other albums like Face Yourself, Love Yourself: Answer, Love Yourself: Tear Map of the Soul: Persona, Map of the soul: 7, Dynamite, Butter, and many others breaking records topping charts and gaining recognition worldwide spreading messages like Love Yourself, awareness of Self Harm, Suicide, Depression, anxiety and many others.

Also, they spoke at the United Nations assembly raising voices against racism, mental problems, and recently talked about SDG (Sustainable Development Goals), a plug for vaccines, poverty, preserving the planet, and gender equality.
